The shooting of 'Sivaji' started in December 2005. Shankar used Harris Jayaraj to compose music for 'Anniyan,' but went back to his old favorite AR Rehman to compose music for 'Sivaji.'
There are 5 songs in 'Sivaji.' Veteran lyricists Vali and Vairamuthu, as well as young lyricists Na Muthukumar and Pa Vijay have written the lyrics for the songs.
