More and more Malayalam distributors are now convinced that the easiest and comparatively less risky way of recovering their money is by investing in Tamil films. For a while, their interest was confined only to superhit films starring leading heroes. Now, they are also interested in films of lesser-known actors!

Recently, two new films were released in Kerala- 'Muni' and 'Thirumagan'. 'Muni' is a tale of a timid man getting possessed by a ferocious spirit. It starred choreographer-director Lawrence Raghava and Rajkiran in the lead roles.
The other film has SJ Suryah and three heroines. Meera Jasmine is the main heroine. Maybe that explains the good run that the film is witnessing in Kerala. During the film's shooting there were rumors that she was getting romantically involved with the hero.
The Tamil films that were released in the beginning of the year, Vijay's 'Pokkiri' and Vishal's 'Thamarabharani' are still continuing their impressive run.
Though an impressive line-up of films is ready for Vishu, everybody is eagerly awaiting the release of the much talked-about 'Shivaji' with Rajinikanth and 'Dasavathaaram' of Kamalhasan.
