
A 17-year-old boy who was convicted of killing his baby daughter has been detained for two-and-a-half years.Caitlyn Smith died in January, aged seven weeks, after suffering severe head injuries, police said.
She was being treated for an infection in hospital in Ormskirk, west Lancashire, when her father Joshua Bacon attacked her.
Bacon, of St Helens on Merseyside, was found guilty of manslaughter last month after a trial at Preston Crown Court.
