    Single-mother soldier gets ?17k


    A single-mother soldier who won a claim of race and sex discrimination against the MoD has been awarded £17,016 by an employment tribunal.Tilern DeBique, 28, from Tooting in south London, had argued she was expected to be available all the time.

    She had been disciplined after not appearing on parade because she had to look after her daughter.

    Panel chairman Jeremy Gordon said Cpl DeBique, who has left the Army, was not treated the same as other soldiers.

    The MoD said personnel were responsible for ensuring "childcare arrangements".
