    Boycott threatens Sats test chaos


    Head teachers have announced plans to boycott of next month's Sats tests for primary school pupils in England.It throws into confusion the national tests due to be taken by hundreds and thousands of 10 and 11-year-olds.

    Teachers' unions have been divided over the boycott ballot - and schools will now face local decisions about tests.

    Mick Brookes, leader of the National Association of Head Teachers, has claimed the Sats tests and league tables damage children's education.
