Hundreds of riot police have moved in to face the red-shirt anti-government protesters in Bangkok's city centre, after a night of violence and tension.Thai television reported the police intend to dismantle the red-shirts' barricades, but the police have stepped back from immediate confrontation.
Overnight, five explosions killed at least three people and wounded 75.
Six weeks of protests continue to challenge the government, block parts of the city and anger residents.
