Police have launched a murder inquiry after an assault victim died a day after he was attacked in West Lothian.The 25-year-old man was seriously injured at an address in Townhead Gardens, Whitburn, on Thursday morning.
He was taken to taken to hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries on Friday.
A 32-year-old man and 21-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident. They are due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday.
Pupils had been told not to leave nearby schools at lunchtime on Thursday while officers carried out investigations after the man was found injured at about 1110 BST.
A Lothian and Borders police spokesman said: "Officers investigating this incident have had a good response from the local community so far, but we are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward to establish exactly what happened.
"We are now asking for anyone else who may have been in the area at the time, and who may have seen something suspicious, to get in touch with us a matter of urgency."This article is from the BBC News website. ?
