Two young children have been killed in a "suspicious" house fire in a Derbyshire town.Fire crews and police were called to the fire at a property on Edale Way in Buxton at about 2345 BST on Friday.
A police spokesman said a woman and a child escaped from a first floor window, but two young children died in the fire.
Police and the fire service have begun a joint investigation into the incident.
Assistant Chief Constable Steve Cotterill said: "My thoughts at this time are with the victims of the tragedy and their families.
"Our investigation into the cause of this fire will continue together with the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service to determine how it started."
