    Town roadblocks in murder inquiry

Roadblocks were set up overnight as part of a police investigation into the murder of a 22-year-old woman who was found strangled. The body of Ffion Wyn Roberts was found in a ditch at Porthmadog, Gwynedd, on Saturday, 10 April.

Vehicles were stopped in Church Street as officers sought potential witnesses who may have driven through the area on the night of the murder.

Police spoke to motorists between 2200 BST on Friday and 0500 BST on Saturday.

Officers said they were continuing to receive "excellent support" locally.

Ms Roberts was last seen alive two weeks ago after a Friday night out celebrating a friend's birthday in nearby Tremadog.

She had set off from the Union pub in Tremadog to walk home in the early hours of 10 April and is believed to have walked along Church Street.

Her body was found a few hours later in a stretch of water in Porthmadog town centre known as Y Cyt.

Police are continuing to examine CCTV footage, photographs from mobile phones, and information given by members of the public.

"We have multiple lines of inquiries ongoing and we are continuing to receive excellent support from local people."
