    Man dies after terrace house fire

    A 47-year-old man has died following a fire at a terraced house in Port Tennant, Swansea.Three fire appliances were called to the house in Baglan Street at 0659 BST after neighbours woke to find smoke in their house.

    A man was rescued from the property by firefighters but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The fire was confined to the kitchen of the property, according to Mid and West Wales Fire service.

    Fire Service Incident Commander Craig Thomas said: "Shortly before 0700 crews from Swansea Central and Swansea West were mobilised to a house fire in Baglan Street.

    "A male casualty was rescued and the fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets by crews wearing breathing apparatus."

    He added: "Tragically the male has died, our thoughts at this time go out to the family"
