Britain's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan has been fined and had points added to his licence after being caught speeding in Brighton.Sussex Police said the 45-year-old was caught by a fixed speed camera in Preston Road on 13 November doing 51mph in a 30mph zone.
He was convicted on Tuesday at Brighton Magistrates' Court and fined £666 after pleading guilty by post.
Six points were added to his licence and he was told to pay £58 costs.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "The vehicle he was driving was doing 51mph in a 30mph zone, above our threshold for issuing a fixed penalty notice."
The offence happened less than 20 miles from the East Sussex village of Newick where the former Daily Mirror and News of the World editor grew up and still maintains close links.This article is from the BBC News website. ?
