A man who tried to murder a 60-year-old woman in an Aberdeen park during an attempt to abduct and rape her two young granddaughters has been jailed.Ryan Yates, 30, admitted stabbing the woman while the children escaped in the Bridge of Don area last October.
Yates carried out the attack five days after he was released from prison for an assault which contained a sexual element.
He was jailed for 10 years at the High Court in Glasgow.
Judge Lord Pentland also imposed a lifelong restriction order.
