Tim Clark won the Players Championship by one shot from Robert Allenby as overnight leader Lee Westwood's challenge faltered on the back nine.South African Clark overtook Westwood with his sixth birdie of the day at 12 on his way to a 67, and a two-shot lead on 16 under, before an anxious wait.
But Allenby, who trailed Westwood by one shot after round three, could only get to within one of Clark.
Westwood double-bogeyed the 17th for a closing 74 to end four shots back.
