    Swimming pool death boy is named

    Kaimen was described as a "lovely young boy, best son and brother"
    An eight-year-old boy who died after getting into difficulties at a swimming pool in North Yorkshire, has been identified by police.

    Kaimen Ward of Ashlands Road, Northallerton died after the incident at Hambleton Leisure Centre in Northallerton on Wednesday.

    He was taken by ambulance to the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton where he was pronounced dead.

    His family described him as a "lovely young boy, best son and brother".

    North Yorkshire Police said the inquest was not expected to be opened and adjourned until Monday.

    Police inquiries into the death remain ongoing. The Health and Safety Executive has also been notified.

    In a statement Kaimen's family said: "We are struggling to come to terms with what has happened to Kaimen, it has left us completely devastated.

    "He is such a lovely young boy, the best son and brother anyone could wish for.

    "We would like to thank everybody for all the love and support we have received."

    Hambleton Council, which runs the swimming pool, temporarily closed the leisure centre as a mark of respect.
