    Moat Taser firm licence 'revoked'

</span> Moat was wanted over three shootings on Tyneside
The Taser stun guns used by officers during a stand off with gunman Raoul Moat were not licensed for use, it has emerged.

It was believed at the time of Moat's death on 10 July that their use was at the discretion of police forces.

But it has now emerged that the Home Office had not approved the weapons and they should not have been used by officers.

Moat died after a six-hour stand-off in Rothbury, Northumberland.

He was wanted over the shooting of his ex-girlfriend, her new partner and a police officer.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating the events leading up to his death.

A spokeswoman for the Home Office said it could not comment on "leaked documents".
