Disused hotel on fire in Weston

</span>Fire crews were at the scene of a hotel building which was said to be well alight in Weston-super-Mare.

More than 30 firefighters were dealing with the blaze at the Royal Pier Hotel, which is not in use, on Birnbeck Road in the town.

Six fire engines were in attendance and have been sent from Weston, Winscombe, Yatton and Bedminster in Bristol.

The empty hotel was previously damaged in a fire in June 2009 and about 20 nearby homes were evacuated.
