    Hundreds of homes suffer flooding

</span>Hundreds of homes across London suffered flooding as heavy rain persisted all night.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) received more than 300 calls about flooding between 2200 BST and 0120 BST. A spokesman called it a "busy night".

Homes in Hammersmith, west London, were particularly badly affected.

Hammersmith and Fulham Council confirmed it had been contacted by many residents and said it may make a statement on the damage later.

An LFB spokesman said: "We had quite a busy night last night.

"We received a total of 302 calls between 10pm and 1.20pm.

"There was an awful lot of flooding."

He added: "We would have gone out to every call."

The LFB is poised for more calls with more heavy rain predicted during the evening and on Monday.
