Birmingham went through to the semi-finals of the Carling Cup as Nikola Zigic's late goal gave them victory over second city rivals Aston Villa.

Richard Dunne's foul on Lee Bowyer in the box allowed Sebastian Larsson to give Birmingham the lead from the spot.

But Gabriel Agbonlahor's side-foot finish, his third in three games at St Andrews, drew the visitors level.

In the 85th minute, Cameron Jerome crossed for Zigic to score the winner via a deflection off Luke Young.
