Police officers and 15 firefighters using a range of lifesaving equipment rescued a 17-year-old girl from a river on Boxing Day night.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Afon Llwyd, near Forge Lane in Pontypool, Torfaen, at around 2300 GMT on Sunday.
Three fire crews used lifejackets, lines and portable lighting to retrieve the local teenager from the water.
She was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport.
Gwent Police officers were also at the scene.
