IPL 2014 - Kieron Pollard and Mitchell Starc's controversial on pitch fight video
Kieron Pollard(West Indian all rounder) and Mitchell Starc(Australian bowler) were engaged in a heated exchange that went on to some near physical exchange. The event started after 3rd ball of the 17th over of the match between Royal challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians at Wangade Stadium. After 4th ball there were some provoking comments from Starc and Pollard was asking him to go back and bowl next by gesture movements. When Starc was running towards crease for next bowl, Pollard seemed moving off showing 'not ready' , but Starc went on with bowling his bowl even Pollard was almost out of pitch on leg side which was close to his legs. Suddenly angered pollard thrown his bat towards Starc but may be because of he is wearing batting glows, bat didnt go as intended and fell couple of yards on left side of Pollard. Umpires tried to calm down both players and they was some exchange after the over between Bangalore Captain Virad Kohli and Pollard too.
Later after the match Captain of Mumbai indians told media that Pollard has been punished by team management for his bad behaviour. Also both players were fined by umpires too. This happening had a very bad impact on both team's fairplay ranking for the fairplay award which is led by Chennai Super kings..
