Chandigarh, Apr 10 (PTI) Police on security duty at the airport here were put in a tizzy early this morning as a large number of fans turned up as Indian Premier League teams Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians, who played against each other at PCA stadium at Mohali late last night, were to catch a flight for their onward destinations. Fans reached the airport in great numbers and police personnel on duty there found it difficult to control the rush.
"We had to call additional police force to control the situation as the fans were in great numbers," sub-inspector, Chandigarh Police, Charanjit Singh said. He, however, maintained that the players were safe all the time and said there was no security breach.
