Jamaican triple world record holder Usain Bolt will race in China for the first time since the 2008 Olympics when he competes over 200 metres at the Shanghai Diamond League meeting on May 23.

In a statement on Monday, the International Association of Athletics Federations said the meeting would also feature a hometown appearance by China's former 110 metres hurdles world record holder Liu Xiang.

Bolt set world records in the 100 and 200 metres and 4x100 metres relay during a sensational 2008 Beijing Games.

The Shanghai race will be his first on the new 14-meeting circuit. He has also been confirmed for New York, Paris and Brussels.
