New Delhi, Apr 24 (PTI) The newly constructed Wrestling stadium in Indira Gandhi Sports complex for October 3-14 Commonwealth Games here will be inaugurated by Union Sports Minister M S Gill tomorrow. The 6,000-seater state-of-the-art venue has been built at a cost of Rs 120 crore and has a built-up area of 22,350 square metre, a Ministry release said today.
The stadium is equipped with green building features like thermal insulation of entire roof with rock wool insulation, gypsum board partitions and wall panellings, external glazing with low energy tinted glasses and energy efficient lighting fixtures. The entire stadium will be under electronic surveillance through fixed and PTZ cameras connected to central control room, which will have integrated network for connecting various facilities, to meet the operational requirement of various tournaments, the release said.
The arena is fully covered and air-conditioned and will include 2200 lux sports lighting system. Minister of State for Sports Pratik Prakashbapu Patil will also attend the function tomorrow.
