Germany goalkeeper Rene Adler will miss the World Cup after being told he needs rib surgery following an injury he picked up last month, the German soccer federation said on Monday

    Adler was recently picked by coach Joachim Loew as the team's first-choice keeper ahead of Manuel Neuer and Tim Wiese.
