Playing an impeccable round of 7-under-65, Rashid Khan led from the front as he shot into lead after the second day of the Samarvir Sahi Golf Championship being played at Chandigarh Golf Club on Wednesday. Playing an almost perfect game, Khan equalled the course record on the second day of the championship and was into the lead.
"The course was playing well and I am happy with my performance today. I was concentrating hard on my putting and it was good to see it coming good for me today. The tournament is seeing some tough competition and the maintaining the lad for the next two days will be tough for me. But I am hopeful of defending the lead and playing well for the next two days. I played my basic shots well today and that was the key for me today," said Khan after the end of day's play. Overnight leader Akshay Sharma shot a round of 6-over-78 to be at the tenth place after the end of second round while Aditya Bhandarkar shot a 2-under to claim the second spot. Gagan Verma was lying at third place with a score of 1-under-71. Rahul Bajaj was lying at fourth place after a score of 1-over-73 while Khalin Joshi was lying at fifth place with a score of 3-over-75.
