The Chandigarh Wrestling Assocition will organise its annual prize distribution function on August 15 to honour the Chandigarh wrestlers who have brought laurels to the city. Stating this here on Wedneday, CWA secretary Darshan Lal said the second annual cash prize distribution function would be held on the occasion of January 26 next year.
The association will be holding its regular coaching camps and send the selected wrestlers for various national championships and other important national-level competitions. The association will be organising a 15-day coaching camp to prepare its wrestlers for the Sub-Junior National Wrestling Championship to be held Nanital.
The 15-day state camps for sub-juniors will be held from June 1. The Chandigarh wrestlers will also compete in the rural competitions to be organised on Guga Madi Festival in September and October.
An annual wrestling tournament in memory of Dr M S Chopra and Mr PL Paul will be conducted in November. After hosting the Senior Chandigarh State Wrestling Championship in December, the association will select probables for the state coaching camp in December.
During the camp, a state team will be finalised for participation in the Senior National Wrestling Championships in the last week of December. In January next year, the association will also hold coaching camp in preparation for Chandigarh's particiption in the KD Yadav Federation Cup.
