Paraguay sealed a morale-boosting 2-0 victory over Greece on Wednesday as the two World Cup finalists clashed in Winterthur, Switzerland in their last warm-up game before flying to South Africa.
Enrique Vera deservedly put the South Americans ahead in the ninth minute and Lucas Barrios doubled the advantage mid-way through a first half dominated by Gerardo Martino's side.
Greece had a goal ruled out for offside in a disappointing display from Otto Rehhagel's Euro 2004 champions.
The Greeks begin their World Cup campaign against South Korea on June 12 in Group B which also includes Argentina and Nigeria.
Paraguay face reigning champions Italy, New Zealand and Slovakia in Group F.
