West Indies make 252 for 6
Half-centuries by Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Narsingh Deonarine resurrected the West Indies' innings in the fifth and final ODI against South Africa at the Queen's Park Oval on Friday. Chanderpaul scored 67, while Deonarine contributed 53, as the hosts posted 252 for the loss of six wickets. South Africa lead the series 4-0.

Pak recall Akhtar, Malik
Pakistan have called up Shoaib Akhtar and Shoaib Malik in their 15-member squad for the Asia Cup cricket in Sri Lanka from June 15-24. The selectors also included two uncapped players left-handed batsman Umar Amin and 24-year-old Asad Shafiq and Shahzaib Hasan in the team.
PCB waive Afridi fine
The Pakistan Cricket Board has withdrawn the Rs 3 million fine on Shahid Afridi for the ball-biting episode in Perth while the Akmal brothers Kamran and Umar got their penalties halved. PCB chairman Ijaz Butt said the fine was removed since Afridi was banned for two matches by the ICC for the incident.
Volleyball player found dead
Former Kerala volleyball captain PK Sunilkumar was found hanging at his Kochi residence. Sunilkumar, 32, is survived by wife and a daughter. A member of the Cochin Port Trust team, Sunilkumarwas found dead on Wednesday night. Port sources said Sunilkumar did not turn up for practice for the last two days. His body was later taken to his native village Narikkuni in Kozhikode district.
Adriano linked to Rio drug lord
Brazilian prosecutors said there were "strong indications" football star Adriano transferred a large sum of money to a notorious drug lord responsible for the downing of a police helicopter last year. Prosecutors said after taking a deposition from Adriano, they would now request a judge for permission to examine data from the player's bank accounts and telephones.
Benitez leaves Liverpool
Liverpool parted company with Rafa Benitez by mutual consent on Thursday, ending the Spaniard's six-year reign as manager. "Benitez relinquishes his position as team manager after six years and the board of directors would like to place on record their thanks for his services and wish him all the best in his future career," a statement on the club website said.
