Amritsar, Jun 4 (PTI) Sports Minister M S Gill today inaugurated the newly upgraded synthetic hockey polyprolene turf at the Sri Guru Hargobind hockey stadium of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) here. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Gill said the need of hour is to develop more sports infrastructure for the benefit of masses.
He said the synthetic hockey tuf has been installed at a cost of Rs 396 lakh and another one at PAP Ground, Jalandhar, at a cost of Rs 335 lakh, would be completed by October this year. He said the Sports Authority of India was also building one synthetic athletic track in Tarn Taran at cost of Rs 494 lakh which would be completed by the end of this year.
