France captain Patrice Evra did not appear at Monday's official news conference before his side's final World Cup Group A game against South Africa.Only coach Raymond Domenech turned up at the pre-match news conference, which normally features both the coach and captain.
That might be an indication that Evra will not wear the armband in Tuesday's game in Bloemfontein after the France players boycotted a training session on Sunday in support of expelled striker Nicolas Anelka.
Only if they score a big win against the hosts on Tuesday and Mexico and Uruguay do not draw at the same time will France stand a chance of reaching the knockout stages.
