Torres keeps his place against Paraguay

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque kept faith with misfiring striker Fernando Torres in a twin-pronged attack with David Villa for the European champions' World Cup quarter-final against Paraguay on Saturday.

Torres returned from knee surgery shortly before the tournament and has yet to find the net in South Africa, while Villa has four goals in four matches.

Striker Fernando Llorente, who was widely praised for his performance when he replaced Torres shortly after halftime in the 1-0, second-round win over Portugal, is on the bench.

Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino has made six changes to the starting 11 he deployed against Japan in the South Americans' last-16 match, which they won after a penalty shootout.

Nelson Valdez and Oscar Cardozo play up front in place of Roque Santa Cruz and Lucas Barrios, with midfielders Edgar Barreto, Victor Caceres and Jonathan Santana also in the side. Dario Veron comes into defence for Carlos Bonet.
