After a good finish at the inaugural race of the Polo Cup car race in Pune, rookie racer Oshan Kothadiya is riding high after a positive start to the season.
However, he is not taking anything for granted going into the second race, which will take place at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore on Sunday.
"I put in a good performance at the Balewadi stadium, which boosted my confidence. However, there are several experienced drivers who are more familiar with the track than I am, so I can't leave anything to chance," he said.
Kothadiya finished sixth and seventh respectively in the two races held at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi on May 30.
"I think the home advantage was a factor as well, and even a top-10 or even a top-12 finish at Coimbatore will be a decent result," he said.
Kothadiya feels that the inaugural race helped him figure out the chinks in his armour, and has been working on them. "I lost about 10-12 seconds in the last three laps because I was lacking in stamina, so I have stepped up my physical training," the Pune racer said.
"There were some problems with the car during the first race, but working on it with the mechanics has improved my timing," he added.
