Coimbatore, Jul 30 (PTI) Top bike riders in the country are all set to showcase their skills at the dirt tracks at Kethanur in the FMSCI Mak Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) 2010, on August one. The first of the Five Round-MAK INRC for two-wheelers has attracted about 40 entries, mainly from Bangalore, Mumbai, Mysore, Pune and also in Tamil Nadu, Annabelkle Manwaring, Director, Pro Sports Promotion, joint promoters of the rally, told reporters here today.
Reigning National champion Arvind K P, along with Pramod Joshua and Nataraj, who finished second and third last year of Team TVS Racing, besides H K Pradeeep also from the TVS Racing stable would add pep to the battle, she said. The rally, in eight caterogies, based on cubic capacity, will have two special stages.
The Textool stage covering 11.7 km and Premier Stage of 14.24 kms will be run three times each in the same direction with two service breaks in between, Prithviraj, secretary, Coimbatore Autosports Club, joint organisors, said. The total distance of special stage rallying will be 77.82 kms, while total distance of the rally,including the transport section will be 114.87 Kms.
Controlled Recce, scrutiny and the briefings would be held tomorrow, with all six special stages being run on August one, Prithviraj said. The second round will be held in Bangalore on Aug 14 and 15, third in Pune on Sept 11, 12, fourth round in Goa on Oct 9-10 and fifth in Hyderabad on November 5, 6 and 7.
