The Dr Shamrao Kalmadi High School entered the finals of the Kick Off Takshila Inter-School Football Championship played at the Delhi Public School, Pune yesterday. Kalmadi High School beat the Hutchings High School in a penalty shootout after regulation time ended with both sides goalless.
Vivek Khisti, Akshay M, Atharva J and Aniket N found the back of the net from the spot for Kalmadi High School, while Aakash Katawati and Laosh Suri were the only Hutchings players who managed to score.
Kalmadi High School were joined in the finals by the Bishops School, Kalyaninagar, who beat the Anglo Urdu Boys High School 2-0 thanks to a brace from their striker Abhiroop Gupta.
Gupta scored his first goal in the 14 th minute, and followed it up almost immediately with another, scoring in the 16 th minute to help his side to victory.
The two sides will now fight it out for the title in the finals to be held on Sunday, August 15 at the DPS Ground.
