New York, Sept.7 (ANI): Tennis star Aisamul Haq has become the first from Pakistan to reach the semi-finals of any grand slam event.
Aisam reserved a berth in the mixed doubles semis of the US Open along with his partner Kveta Peschke of the Czech Republic, Geo News reports.
Pak-Czech pair had a face-off against Gisela Dulko of Argentina and Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay.
The South American pair swept the first set 6-3, but thereafter, the Pak-Czech pair put in a commanding performance to nail the next two sets 6-2 and 1-0.
The Pakistani tennis star and his Indian partner Rohan Bopanna will today face number nine seeds Wesley Moodey of South Africa and **** Norman of Belgium in the doubles of the same tournament. (ANI)
