London, Oct 8 (ANI): Wayne Rooney has been branded a chav by Federico Macheda, a fellow striker who plays with Manchester United.
Macheda appreciated his Old Trafford teammate for his skills and advice, but indiscreetly described him a 'coatto'.
The term means working class and vulgar, with the closest colloquial translation being chav.
"Rooney is a really great person, he always gives me advice. But, as we say in Rome, he's a bit of a coatto," the Daily Mail quoted Federico, a fellow striker who plays with Manchester United, as telling in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
Rooney is set to meet up with the England squad ahead coming days ahead of their match against Montenegro at Wembley next Tuesday.
The 100,000 pounds-a-week star became embroiled in a tawdry scandal last month after prostitute Jennifer Thompson claimed she had enjoyed three-in-a-bed sex -sessions with Rooney while his wife Coleen was five months pregnant. (ANI)
