Dhanbad, Oct 11(PTI) Tripura restricted Jharkhand to 201 in the first innings on first day of fourday CK Nayudu under-22 cricket match which began here at Digwadih Stadium here today. In reply Tripura were 33 for one at the stump.
Samrat Singh (8) and Kaushal Acharjee ( 8) were at the crease. Lone wicket of Tripura to fell was that Saurabh Dubey (10).
Rahul Shukla took the wicket for host team. Earlier in the morning Jharkhand won the toss and elected bat first.
But the host team lost Nishant Kumar (17) and Gurjeet Singh (0) at the score of 21. T Bhattacharjee sent both the batsmen back.
However Akash Verma (32) and Ajit Dwivedy (33) guided the inning to stable position before Keshav Kumar took the charge by hitting superb half century (73) besides adding 90 runs partnership with Kamal Gope (25) for fifth wickets. Keshav was highest scorer of the team.
He completed his half century facing 75 ball with nine hits to fence. His 73 runs came in 181 balls with the help of 13 fours.
When it looked both the batsmen would steer the team in comfortable position A Chakraborty inflicted major jolt to host by getting both the batsmen caught at mid wicket. With the departure of Keshav and Kamal no other batsmen of Jharkhand could resisted Tripuras bowlers.
. Amit Gavande and A Chakraborty were most successful bowlers for visitors claiming three wickets each conceding 19 and 40 runs respectively.
A Bhattacharjee claimed two wickets for 42 runs. Brief score: Jharkhand 201 in 80.5 overs Tripura 33 for 1 in 7 over.
