PGTI member Mohammad Zamal Hossain Mollah of Bangladesh led his team to victory with a score of 53.4 during the Pro-Am event of the Haryana Open presented by Unitech, Ireo, HUDA and PGC, on Sunday. Zamal's team comprised of amateurs B S Cheema, Manpal Singh and Maan Singh.
PGTI member Ranjit Singh's team also posted a score of 53.4 but finished second on the basis of a countback on the back nine. Ranjit's team comprised of H S Bhullar, H S Heera and Dawa Chering.
The event witnessed some of the top professionals of the country tee-off alongside amateur golfers from Chandigarh and Panchkula. The Pro-Am was played in the team scramble format where the team's best ball was chosen on every shot including the putting green. After the best ball was chosen all other players were to place their ball within one score card length before continuing play.
The prize for the longest drive was bagged by Dr. Shobhit Ghai who came up with a 324 yard drive on hole no. 8. The prize for the closest shot to the pin on hole no. 17 was won by Jyoti Matharoo. His shot landed 5 feet and 7 inches from the pin. Maj. Gen. Purshottam Vij won the contest for the straightest drive on hole no. 10. His drive landed on the centre of the fairway.
