    St Kabir scores narrow win over Strawberry Fields

    A gritty performance by their cagers propelled St Kabir Public School, Sector 26 to a narrow 24-18 win over Strawberry Fields School in a league match of the Lt. Col. Balrasj Singh Memorial Basketball Tournament for girls being played at New Public School, Sector 18, on Thursday. It was a narrow win for St Kabir Public School as the rival team also fought hard in the match.

    St Kabir Public School were leading by 6-0 at the end of the first quarter before conceding six points in the second quarter. The scorecard read 8-6 in favour of St Kabir Public School after the end of second quarters. The third quarter saw Strawberry Fields School scoring eight points as compared to six points made by St Kabir Public School, Sector 26. At the end of third quarter, both the teams were tied at 14-14. St Kabir Public School regrouped their energies in the fourth quarter as they scored ten points in the fourth quarter as compared to four points scored by Strawberry Fields School.

    For the winning team, Shivanjali scored 14 points while Jannat scored ten points. For the losing team, Sehaj scored six points. In another match of the day, hosts New Public School scored a 18-8 win over Vivek High School. Both the teams were tied at 2-2 after the end of the first quarter and were tied at a score of 4-4 after the end of second quarter. The third quarter saw New Public School scoring four points before scoring ten points in the fourth quarter. For the winning team, Shilpi was the main scorer as she scored 12 points while Janvi scored six points.
