Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 18, recorded a five-wicket win over LIC Club in the first semifinal match of the ongoing Junior State Cricket Women Tournament (Under-19) for Pt. Kedarnath Trophy played at Govt Model Sr.
Sec. School, Sector 56, Chandigarh, on Saturday.
Batting first, LIC Club team posted a total of 74 runs in 20 overs. Priyanka (28) and Manisha (12) were LIC's main scorers.
Govt Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 18, achieved the target in 9.1 overs losing one wicket. LIC bowlers kept bowling wayward deliveries resulting in too many extras.
Govt Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 56, will take on I.S.Dev Smaj School, Sector 21, in the second semifinal to be played on Monday.
