    Tomar misses final

A below par third round saw Seema Tomar miss the final by two points and a possible Olympic quota place in women's trap in the shooting World Cup in Sydney on Thursday. A silver medallist in the World Cup in Dorset last year, Seema had a total of 66 following a series of 22, 24, 20 that placed her 10th in a field of 43.

In men's free rifle 3-position event, Gagan Narang had a total of 1168, but sat out the MQS section as he already has won an Olympic quota place, even as national champion Sanjeev Rajput struggled in the main event with a total of 1148 that placed him 42nd among 50.

Satyendra Singh (1151) and Imran Hassan Khan (1143) failed to cross the elimination round, and did not qualify for the main event. Jozef Gonci of Slovakia and Thomas Farnik of Austria had collected the Olympic quota places while being placed fourth and seventh respectively. In men's air pistol, Amanpreet Singh (568) and Zakir Khan (564) took the 44th and 51st positions, while national champion Om Prakash did not finish owing to a problem in the sixth and final series.
