Jammu, Apr 25 (PTI) A multi-purpose stadium will come up within two years at Katra, the base camp of the cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi.
Governor N N Vohra, who is the Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), laid foundation of the stadium at Katra. The stadium will be constructed by the Shrine Board at a cost of Rs 11 crore.
The modern stadium will have facilities for games like cricket, football, hockey, volleyball and squash and capacity to accommodate 4000 spectators.
Vohra also reviewed various ongoing development schemes of the Shrine Board meant to benefit visiting pilgrims.
