Mumbai, May 16 (PTI) Top seed Parik**** Somani of Assam led the seeds into the second round of the Ramesh Desai Memorial sub-junior (under 12) national tennis championship here today.
On the inaugural day of the event, Somani outplayed Amit Beniwal of Haryana 6-2 6-0 while sixth seeded Vatsin Thakkar of Maharashtra scored a facile 6-0 6-0 win over Andhra Pradesh''s Choudhary to make the second round.
The tournament is being organised by the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association on their tennis courts here today.
