Mumbai, May 24 (PTI) Maharashtra Anvit Bendre, Sahil Deshmukh, Abhimanyu Dakwale along with Preeti Bhandurge, Ria Vardhan, Trisha Punamia and Kanishka Chawla defeated their respective opponents to enter the next round at the Ramesh Desai Memorial Junior National Tennis tournament here today.
In the boys'' event, third seeded Bendre outplayed Tamil Nadu''s Vasudev Vijayraman 6-1 6-1, while fifth seed Deshmukh beat Ankush Arora 6-2 6-2 to enter the third round.
In the most intense fight of the day, Dakwale prevailed over Delhi''s Rahul Singh 5-7 6-0 6-2.
In the girls'' section, Maharashtra''s Bhandurge scored easy victory over Andhra Pradesh''s C Sai Nikhita 6-3 6-1, while Vardhan defeated statemate Kavita Mishra 6-1 6-0.
