New Delhi, June 7 (PTI) India''s Rohan Gajjar and Ranjit Virali Murugesan started their campaign on a positive note, scoring comfortable opening round victories in the USD 10,000 ITF tournament here today.
Second-seeded Gajjar blew away the challenge of Japanese qualifier Naoki Takeda 6-2 6-0 while Ranjit, seeded third, defeated compatriot Tejas Chaukulkar 6-1 6-0 at the DLTA Complex.
Vignesh Peranamallur defeated countrymate Neeraj Elangovan 7-5 6-3 to set up a second round clash with Gajjar. Ranjit next plays Sweden''s Lucas Renard, who defeated India''s Yannick Nelord 6-3, 7-5.
In another first round matches, fourth-seeded N Prashanth thrashed qualifier Manpreet Singh Chawla 6-1 6-0 while Ashwin Vijayragavan defeated qualifier Tejesvi Rao 6-2 7-5.
