Valencia (Spain), June 26(ANI): Reigning Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel continued his perfect start to the season by winning the European Grand Prix from pole position on Sunday.
The Red Bull driver finished ahead of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso in second and third-placed teammate Mark Webber.
After finishing second in each of the three previous races at this venue, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton was a distant fourth, 46seconds behind Vettel.
The German is now 77 points clear - virtually the equivalent of three race wins - of Webber and Jenson Button, who was a minute down in sixth in his McLaren.
"Maybe from the outside, it looked like a boring race, but I enjoyed it so much. Of course I had some pressure from Fernando and Mark behind and even though I had a gap before the stop, they were still very close," The BBC quoted Vettel, as saying.
"Again I was pushing hard, judging the tyres, trying to imagine what the end of the stint would be like. For some reason I enjoy this track. Last year I had a smooth race and again this year, I had a good race."
"This track is not made for us with no real fast corners, but we still managed to put everything together," he added. (ANI)
