Latest from Sports - Reds recall Ioane, Robinson for S15 semifinals

BRISBANE, Australia (AP) — The Queensland Reds have recalled outside backs Digby Ioane and Anthony Faingaa and rugged backrower Beau Robinson from injury for Saturday's Super 15 semifinal against the Auckland Blues.

All three missed the end of the regular season, when the Reds finished atop the standings to earn a home semifinal. Greg Holmes will start at prop for the Reds, with Guy Shepherdson on the bench.

"We've been extremely impressed with the way our squad has handled the absence of some of our regulars, but you need strike power and experience to win big games, and we have that returning in spades on Saturday night," Reds coach Ewen McKenzie said.

Former Brumbies backrower Radike Samo regained his place at No.8 ahead of Jake Schatz, who joins teenage flanker Liam Gill on the bench.

Winger Dom Shipperley drops out of the squad, while former Melbourne Storm rugby league center Will Chambers covers a host of backline postions off the bench.

Queensland last hosted a Super rugby semifinal in 1999 when it lost to the Canterbury Crusaders at Ballymore. The Reds' last playoff appearance was a 30-6 defeat to the ACT Brumbies in 2001.

    Lineup:

Jono Lance, Rod Davies, Anthony Faingaa, Ben Tapuai, Digby Ioane, Quade Cooper, Will Genia; Radike Samo, Beau Robinson, Scott Higginbotham, James Horwill (captain), Rob Simmons, Greg Holmes, Saia Faingaa, Ben Daley. Res: James Hanson, Guy Shepherdson, Adam Wallace-Harrison, Jake Schatz, Liam Gill, Ian Prior, Will Chambers.
