SYDNEY (AP) — Melbourne halfback Cooper Cronk scored two tries to ensure the Storm remained in first place in Australia's National Rugby League with a 28-18 win over the Canterbury Bulldogs.
It was the seventh loss in nine matches for the Bulldogs, while the Storm won their sixth in a row.
In matches Sunday, Manly moved into second place, two points behind the Storm, with a 36-22 win over South Sydney. The Sydney Roosters, led by Todd Carney, who scored two tries and kicked three goals, beat Penrith 34-26.
Newcastle plays North Queensland on Monday. Third-place St. George Illawarra and fourth-place Brisbane had weekend byes.
