PARIS (Reuters) - French triple jumper Teddy Tamgho has pulled out of the athletics world championships with an ankle injury, the French federation said on Tuesday.
Tamgho, the world indoor champion who holds the third best triple jump mark with 17.98 metres, will have to undergo surgery and will not compete again this season.
"I am really sad and affected by Teddy's injury," French technical director Ghani Yalouz said in a statement.
The world championships will be held in Daegu, South Korea, from Aug. 27 to Sep. 4.
