Latest from Sports - Prior says it will be 'hugely frustrating' if England fails to 'finish off Indi

London, July 25 (ANI): England wicketkeeper batsman Matt Prior has said that his side should be able to bowl India out on the final day of play at lords today.

Prior said that it would be 'hugely frustrating' if England fail to 'finish off India' and take a big step towards stealing their status as the world's number one Test team.

"We have put ourselves in a very strong position and it would be hugely frustrating not to back that up and go through with it," Prior was quoted, as saying by The Telegraph.

"The important thing is we come in here as normal and look to win the first half hour and go from there. If you start thinking we have to win this Test match, we have to take wickets' you can start putting unnecessary pressure on the bowlers," he added.

Prior scored a blistering hundred just when England were struggling after Indian pacer Ishant Sharma took three wickets in 16 deliveries and reduced England to 62 for 5.

Prior's unbeaten 103 was an impressively selfless innings which helped England declare at 269 for six, giving India the stiff task of scoring 457 runs in the final innings.

"I was not expecting to bat before lunch. I was looking at the menu thinking, I will have the lamb but suddenly there I was taking my guard. The first thing was to build a partnership," Prior said.

"To sit here now is very pleasing but we still have a long way to go in this series with a huge day tomorrow," he added. (ANI)
